The "Low Country" is the middle section of the Ards Peninsula of County Down, Northern Ireland, is only 20 miles away from Scotland, and includes the villages of Greyabbey, Ballywalter, Carrowdore, Ballyhalbert, Kirkcubbin, Portavogie and Cloughey/Kirkistown. It is one of the homelands of the Ulster-Scots people (also known in the USA as the "Scotch-Irish")

This CD features 18 tracks of old gospel music, from Scots and Ulster-Scots language hymns to old Ulster fiddle hoedowns and great hillbilly gospel classics!

People have been listening to hillbilly and Southern gospel in Northern Ireland since the first 78s were imported from the USA - by artists like the Carter Family, the McCravy Brothers, Jimmie Rodgers and Roy Acuff - most of whom were Scotch-Irish themselves.
